Icemagedon Jan 2017

All of last week we were warned about the ice storm that was going to be coming through. It would appear that no one told my home town that it was supposed to be frozen over. I woke up this morning to a spring shower, slow and steady but not the least bit frozen. Though I am guessing that the next town over was a bit colder. Church was cancelled this morning unfortunately. This weekend James is at his father's house and Ann is house sitting for our mother. Mom is in Colorado Visiting my Gran who has been very sick with pneumonia, She has been sick for several years, she has lung cancer and Alzheimer's which is why they have decided not to treat her for cancer.

When I was a girl my Gran was the most formidable woman I have ever met and there is still no one else who comes close except maybe my mom. Loyd women are some of the most stubborn, headstrong, with a streak of independence a mile wide. I'm proud to follow that tradition. Gran was a trauma nurse in an emergency room for nearly 30 years before she started to get sick. She was always on my side no matter what the situation, she loved my tiny, spiky, handwriting and the fact that I wrote it with my left hand just like her. It's hard to see her now, she is hardly the woman I new. It's even harder to see my mom struggle with it.

This weekend I had a gentleman caller. Lee is actually an old boyfriend of mine. It was an amazing Saturday. He and I split up for good reasons, we want completely different things but sometimes the heart doesn't like to listen to logic. oh well. He went home this morning and I spent the rest of my day out at my dad's house with him and my godfather Jay. I spent most of it writing or working on motorcycles with the two of them.

Well that's all for tonight.
